yes, our QBs are young, but please stop with this excuse. Manziel was inexperienced. Winston was inexperienced. Cam Newton was inexperienced. Braxton Miller. Heck, even McCarron was inexperienced when he started, but managed to do ok.
Everyone of those QBs, except Miller, redshirted.

Manziel redshirted.
Winston redshirted.
Newton redshirted.
Heck, even McCarron redshirted.

Miller did not redshirt. Let's take a look at his freshman year:

Miller played very little in the first three game of the season. Miller was named the starting quarterback for the Buckeyes' week 4 game against Colorado. His first career start turned out to be the best performance of his young career, as he tossed 2 touchdown passes, while going just 5 for 13 for 83 yards in the game.

His second career start proved to not be so successful, as the Buckeyes lost 7-10 against Michigan State. Miller completed only 5 of 10 passes for 56 yards with an interception. He also was sacked several times resulting in -27 yards rushing.

In his third start against Nebraska, Miller completed 5 of 9 passes for 95 yards and a touchdown, before leaving the game with an ankle injury in the 3rd quarter.

The following week, the Buckeyes defeated No. 16 Illinois, 17-7. Miller only attempted four passes the entire game, completing only one, which was for a touchdown.

After their bye week Ohio State faced off against No. 15 Wisconsin. Miller was 7 of 12 for the game with one touchdown.

Miller's 1st year numbers are eye-popping. I guess you're right:
