I don't see an issue as long as it doesn't have LSU on it. The colors may be some type of issue But I don't think LSU owns the trademark to purple

Oh yeah they do. Trust me. According to the NCLA, anything that is "synonymous " to a college or bearing their "marks" makes it their property. So if you paint a rock purple and gold/yellow, sell them, and someone says "hey, it's an LSU rock, someone can report you. Soon after you will receive a "cease and desist letter "If it's a big enough operation in their eyes, they will send you the same letter and demand you report to them what remaining inventory you have, how many sold, and what profits were made.

So a long story short, yes, LSU and the NCLA say they own the combination of the color purple and gold. And because LF7 has made that symbol and plays for LSU that makes all that apparel "synonymous" to LSU. I don't see him getting in any trouble by the NCAA but if someone turns whoever that is selling them in, or if LSU turns them in, they could have some trouble

No, they don't. The particular color of yellow, and the particular color of purple, they own the trademark to, period. You can buy that color of paint from Lowe's...they are licensed to sell it. And no...it's not canary yellow as has been posted on here several times. It is called LSU Yellow, and LSU purple...very close to canary yellow, but not it...

On the honey badger thing, what they had to quit selling was anything with his likeness, or with his number, both of which were associated with LSU. Purple and gold shirts that said "honey badger, blah blah" were not able to be removed by either LSU or NCAA.

If an item is sold with the LSU logo, the LSU letters, a toonces logo...anything trademarked by LSU, then it is able to be targeted, mostly by the university for profits...but I can make as many purple and gold shirts as I want, write "I love football", or anything else I want NOT including any university trademark, number, likeness, or legal name of any player, and there isn't a damn thing the university or the NCAA can do about it. This is why they can continue to sell all the BUGA shite they want. However, that doesn't stop the university from asking that they quit as to be sure not to enter any grey area...

If this is the case, LSU needs to send a "cease and desist" order to the Bill Cassidy senate campaign.

He's using purple and gold campaign signs and the "geaux" spelling, as if he's the endorsed "LSU candidate."
