same record

The assumption that Valentine is going to be a difference maker is based on hope more than anything.

It's based on the fact that he is 6'4 360. If he could do anything but not get pushed around, he would be better than anything we have been playing at DT. Do you remember Terrance Cody's big arse at Bama? He really did not but was a brick wall. Right now, we need him to fill a dam break in the middle of our defense. Godchaux and LMFAO will then be able to get pressure on the QB also, and we could finally start hitting people behind the line of scrimmage.

These were the only two true freshman defensive line guys during the offseason, that I thought would see the field. Both are very disruptive and stout at the point of attack.

Coupled with Beckwith playing nearly the entirety of games, and Jamal Adams getting starts, we could really look a lot better by the end of the year. It's why I have changed my tune on those last two games of Arkansas and TAMU.

Win the next two, win the back two (we should be clicking with experience and the best players on the field), and play upset to Ole Miss (crappy run game). We could end the regular season on a high note, winning 5 of our last 6.

I've seen mid season changes by LSU in 2010. One was Lee providing the passing with JJ's running, in wins vs UF and Tennessee

JJ playing way better the 2nd half of the season than the first (omitted McNeese St game)
First 6 - 53/101 (52.5%) 546 yards (5.4 ypa) 2 TD 7 int, 58 car 231 yards (3.99 ypc) 4 TDs
Last 6 - 60/99 (60.6%) 837 yards (8.45 ypa) 5 TD 3 int, 63 car (3.92 ypc) 243 yards 3 TDs

Then in 2012 after the loss to UF, we gave Hill the lion share of carries.

We also replaced (had to) a guard and a tackle with a true freshman and redshirt freshman

After the bye, the WR drops almost dissapeared, and Mett looked better.

This season will be a work in progress.
