Call me crazy, and I know it sounds old fashioned, but I think it is up to the athlete when he wants to retire.

Yes. He is out of shape an old. Actually come to think of it he should play another season just for the MAAARTY chant at MSG again

Teams should just keep chugging out millions to aging players until the players decide they've had enough.

I'd play until I couldn't walk if you kept paying me.
