IMO, lining up in the spread formation %99.9 of the time is a bad idea. I understand that most of you are unhappy with the performance of our offense and so am I, but the spread is not the answer. If you think our o-line has difficulty blocking now, they don't stand a chance in the spread.

Yeah they suck either way, agreed, I was thinking it may give BH .2 of a second more to think before they were all over him

I can understand that, I just don't understand why they continue to recruit spread Qb's. Haden Rettig would have been a perfect fit, but he was told the offense was going a different direction. My concern with Harris playing under center, is that he never did it in HS, so imo, that's something he should be doing later (after he get's experience), and not on the road vs an SEC team. I believe it was his first snap of the game, that was bobbled, and i'm sure it will happen again. We've seen Jennings fumble the ball as well. The offense is pretty "bland", but it can work, just look at last season, but the coaches have to adjust to the players, especially when you have two very young Qb's. Jmo, but LSU should watch film of the seahawks, and adjust to what they are doing, with Wilson.

Wait.. Our OL will not have a chance in the spread but lining up in a bunch to block 10 is ok?

We could certainly mix it up but we are way too predictable right now.

the o-line is being taught zone blocking used in spread offenses

miles wants to run power man blocking schemes

I disagree. If you have a terrible offensive line then you design plays that setup quickly. We are trying to throw fades and post routes. These routes take 3-4 seconds to setup against decent coverage. If the plays are designed to get the ball out of the QB's hands quickly and into a playmakers hands then I think the offense can improve. I-Form doesn't need to go away, but it needs to be used less IMO. At least have some creative plays out of I Form so that you can get the RB's some room. Spread used to get LF MD and our other recievers the ball against smaller corners in space. It's not as simple, but it would be effective.
