Offense goes 5 wide. Defense follows with 5 defenders and a OLB\Safety halfway defending the middle and halfway on the side with 3 receivers
Leaves 4 DL and Welter in the middle.
5 OL vs 4 DL and Welter = 20+ yard gain every time.

Yet, with our veteran OLine, great, athletic WRs, talented RBs, and athletic QBs, we NEVER go 5 Wide and do the same thing. We just keep pounding it up the middle into 10 men in the box for 2 yard gains.
It is almost like the coaches stopped watching football in 1978 or something. I don't get it.

That's is my point. Someone should be able to make the fricking call to get out of man every once in a while you would think. Or another novel concept, man up your corners and let the safties cover the middle to help and hey read and react to the play.

Leaves 4 DL, Welter or Beckwith in the middle. 5OL vs 4DL, Welter or Beckwith = 20+yard gain every time.
