Offense goes 5 wide. Defense follows with 5 defenders and a OLB\Safety halfway defending the middle and halfway on the side with 3 receivers

Leaves 4 DL and Welter in the middle.

5 OL vs 4 DL and Welter = 20+ yard gain every time.

Yet, with our veteran OLine, great, athletic WRs, talented RBs, and athletic QBs, we NEVER go 5 Wide and do the same thing. We just keep pounding it up the middle into 10 men in the box for 2 yard gains.

It is almost like the coaches stopped watching football in 1978 or something. I don't get it.

That's is my point. Someone should be able to make the fricking call to get out of man every once in a while you would think. Or another novel concept, man up your corners and let the safties cover the middle to help and hey read and react to the play.

Fixed that for ya there Dr.Shultz. Welter isn't the only problem on defense.
