I don't understand this. If I can watch it over the air in HD, why won't direct tv show it in HD. I am in lafayette la.

It all depends on if DirecTV is contracted with the local station in that area. In Augusta, where I live, CW is a substation (26.2) under the same channel number as one of the major networks (26). If I was in Atlanta, I could get it as CW has it's own unique channel number. No idea what the deal in Lafayette is.
