re: Is leaving early just an urban myth to explain our weaknesses?

We have given up 450+ yards in two SEC games. Two players dont make that big of a difference.
Miles blamed it on the offense not being able to stay on the field, so even he doesnt think 2 defensive players turns this season around

568 and 570 actually. Otherwise, I agree.

We've had 21 early departures since 2011...Alabama is second with 10....You really think that doesn't affect us??

"Two players dont make that big of a difference."
Two players in the dead center of a defense that has so-so LB's and so-so DE's is HUGE. We play the run better, and get way more pass rush without blitzing if those two guys come back. The defense is nowhere near the liability it is today and is probably a net strength if they return. The DB's are reasonably good and they would look a lot better if we could force obvious passing downs and collaps the center of the pocket.
Look, I am mad, too, but I think there is a strange tendency to bury our hands in the sand when it comes to the unchecked flow of underclassmen leaving early. It is absolutely hurting the program. I have no problem with guys leaving to be high picks, but we need to get it back to that.

Read your title again dumbass. Two early exits at the DT position is A WEAKNESS as you described in the title. Them coming back as seniors would have greatly improved the slop we have.
Nobody on offense matters coming back. It's the coaches who are messing up that side. Harris should start and in shotgun and open up the playbook. Running 17 times in the first 20 plays probably killed any confidence he had going in. Fournette should get the lion share of the running. Magee should be his change of pace like he was for Hill last year.
