You may need to call MD and get a Return Authorization from them. If possible, so you aren't down for long, see if there is a way you can buy another one tomorrow and have it shipped 2 day, and have them refund your account that same amount when they get your unit back.

ALWAYS KEEP ALL AUDIO BOXES INDEFINITELY--for every piece of gear--even the small accessories--you will need them at some point in ownership.

I know you were psyched to get up and running, but this stuff happens. It seems whenever I pull the trigger on something and want it immediately, shite always goes wrong.

It's electronics--I have had things that were bad from opening the box too. Don't let it get you down. MD is open on Saturday mornings, so call them tomorrow AM and tell them all the different things you have tried and that you have traced it back to the preamp section of the Quad...they should easily replace it.

It could be worse--I've got $35k in shot gear right now and am just beginning the wrangling phase of dealing with the crappy insurance company!

Ok cool I'll do that as soon as it opens. I don't even have it turned up a 1/4 and sounds nice I moved a tad closer and can tell the difference in the bass crazy how much that makes a difference
