Im just saying hes a little overrated and he thought he was better than he actually was. (Was a prick on stage)

The experimenting was cool. I respect it. It brought jazz to new places it had never been. Im just saying its not for me and isnt exactly enjoyable to listen too IMHO. I feel the same about coltrane. Very talented but too many notes for my tastes. Give me sonny rollins any day. I like the old school stuff from the 30s - 50s as opposed to the 60s psychedlic experimental fusion stuff they started doing.

Eta: and his era was the decline of jazz music if that tells you anything about the direction that davis/coltrane were taking jazz
