Ebola was always scary because it kills so fast, but that was always its downfall. It would kill people too quickly to spread very far, killing a lot of people in a small area, but burning itself out before it could spread.

This new strain has a lower mortality rate and kills people slower, which may seem like a good thing at first, but actually means that it has the potential to be spread to far more people.

It is also speculated that this strain may actually be airborne, unlike previous strains.

I think they confirmed that it isn't airborne. This can get out of hand real quick with air travel these days. This is many steps down the road, but at what point do we stop all air travel?

Exactly why there should be concern. It's what viruses do. Breaking out my tinfoil hat I can't help but notice the timing of bringing the MD here for treatment followed closely by the virus appearing in the US.
