Damnit.

I do stuff all the time alone around the camp and off in the woods with equipment. Amazing how complacent you can get. Thanks for sharing.

I hope he pulls through.

I still am curious how long the family thought he was going to be gone for since they didn't even go looking until after 4 full days.

So he just stayed with the truck but wasn't physically trapped by the truck?

If the truck was stuck then how did he get stuck under the truck. Perhaps the truck rolled over him in the mud, therefore it gave the appearance the truck was stuck.

I'll go MIA for a couple of days every now and then. I completely understand how this could happen.

Prayers for your buddy.

So he was stuck in the mud under the truck? Was he trying to dig it out?

Trying to dig it out and somehow it rolled on him? Seems unlikely, though.

Must be stroke, dehydration, etc. If truck was stuck, I'd have started hoofing it. Bound to run into somebody.

No the truck was just stuck in the mud, he wasn't run over

And he was stuck underneath it? I'm having a hard time picturing this situation and/or how anyone could get into it, but that definitely sucks. Prayers. For real.

Most people go to the camp for a weekend or during days off and stay for a few days. Loved ones probably figured he just stayed an extra day to get the food plots done. Not uncommon.

Prayers for him and his family/friends

Damn, I am sorry. I guess its a good lesson though, if you know you are going to be out alone be sure to have people that know to look for you ASAP if you don't check in.

I get that and I wasn't placing blame, I was just wondering.

Me too like I said it doesn't make sense he is older than me and in worse shape if that is possible. He could very well have been trying to dig it out and passed out

We all should, but being men, we usually don't.

I'll turn my phone off and leave it at the camp and haul arse in the boat for a day and my family/friends know I do it sometimes.

It's liberating to ditch the ties. It's just unfortunate that you open yourself up to this when you do it.

Yeah, maybe he got too hot and tried to find some shade? As far as his family not checking up on him earlier... that's not a big deal. If he's not married, an unanswered call from the most important woman in his life (his mom) isn't a big deal.
