Trout is an easy pick in the AL.
McCutch wasn't the best hitter in the NL this year. Giancarlo Stanton had a much better year. OPS was a tie. McCutch had a few more steals but not much. Stanton had 12 more homers and 22 more rbis. Stanton carried a below average team on his back all year with no lineup support. Marlins were making a wild card push before he got hurt. So my NL pick would easily be Stanton. Dude is a monster.

I think you are pretty much splitting hairs between them, but no way one was much better than the other.
McCutchen actually had a higher wOBA and wRC+.
