The analogy makes sense; especially CTE being the canary in the coal mine.
That article is horrible. Pretty far fetched to compare NFL Players with Coal Miners. Coal Miners are subjected to terrible working conditions and low pay. NFL players get paid millions of dollars to play a game with access to millions of dollars of state of the art training equipment and medical personnel.
I agree that players that played prior to CTE being known have a claim but the effects are known now so any player stepping on that field should know the risk. In my opinion, players that continue to play knowing what they know are acknowledging the risk and consenting to play so they shouldn't be able to come back and complain in the future.
