Do you honestly think people like Brandon Meriweather would suddenly be able to tackle rugby style efficiently?

Wut?

I'm saying Rugby players have been using less padding and the world hasn't ended and people aren't dying all over the place. There is a clear similarity in the games of American Football and Rugby, which is my point that padding isn't really as necessary as people say it is.

Rugby doesn't have near the impact. The speed and size of the collision. That's what the issue is. It's not just tackling.

Muscle memory. It's absurd to think these DBs are suddenly going to drastically and radically change the kind of tackling they do in hundredths of seconds without some people getting seriously injured. Hell, Wes Welker busted up Talib's ribs last year by just a simple pick play.

I don't care if Vince Wilfork rugby tackles you, it's going to hurt.
