Get some acrylic and build your own to fit whatever space you have under the stand- much cheaper than buying prebuilt sumps. incorporate a small refugium and throw some chaeto and a light to help with nitrates.

Do you think I could get a good stand on Craigslist?

Do you have the tank yet? You mentioned a 30g limit, but that could be a cube or rectangle shape.

Would you consider yourself handy? Rather than look for a used stand that would fit the tank, which will be difficult since 30g is not a super common size, it may be better to build one.

You could build a stand for less than $50-100 easy. Frame it with 1x1 (or 2x4) and then cover it in 1/4" plywood, stain and poly it and you are good to go!

I would look around locally though- see if they have a reef club and look there. There's always someone looking to get out of the hobby...
