The first 30 for 30 was Kings Ransom: The 1988 trade of Wayne Gretzky from the Edmonton Oilers to the Los Angeles Kings and the effect it had on Gretzky, the fans in Edmonton, and the popularity of hockey in Southern California.

Yea they did. It was on the guy who basically lied about his net worth by buying the Islanders with money from loans and defaulting.

Literally the first one.

"King's Ransom" was about Gretzky leaving Edmonton for L.A.

They did another one recently about the con artist who bought the Islanders despite having no money and no financial backing.
