As long as you know that going in, fine.

But this is one of those "rules" that seems strange to me. How is someone parking a car on the curb going to somehow ruin the charm of the neighborhood. If they were parking on the grass, that's one thing. But just parking on the street?

The one exception of course is if the street is so narrow that it's simply not safe to park on the curb.

You answered one point.

It does look trashy to have cars in the street...usually it's a rule that isn't enforced too much. Sometimes you get wackos on the board that like to borderline harass people with the rules. Believe me I know....I'm on a HOA board and we have a psychotic 74 year old woman who constantly fires off emails with complaints about us not enforcing the rules strongly enough.
