Why does the o-line always suck when the coaches praise it before the season?

I'm sure I'm not the only person who has noticed this, but I haven't seen it discussed much. Even the national media jumped on board with the idea that LSU would have one of the best lines in football.

Do you think the coaches really believed it or were they just trying to instill confidence in the team?

Or, is Les Miles the devil and he just wants to torture us all?

Yeah, happened in 08. Miles said it was the best O-Line he's coached

This is a great question. It does seem like this happens quite often. The coaches claim the OL is going to be great, and then the season starts and it hardly ever pans out. The LSU OL has had a history of improving during the season, though. Not always, but sometimes.

I was one of those guys praising Grimes, but so far the production under his tutelage hasn't been very good.

Because Miles may think we have a stellar o-line. Every year. I know that's hard to fathom. He gets paid a lot of money to know if our offensive line is ready to roll. I guess maybe he missed on this one. Every year.

The lack of a passing games the oline look terrible. If the defense respects the pass, the oline job is much easier. Thats why they looked good last year.
