That's great.
Did they mention when you would be able to get it back?
I don't think you will have to wait for the .35 Whelen but with most other firearm recoveries they will do a ballistics check to see if the weapon matches any open cases.

No. The guy that called me was my investigating officer (Memphis metro) when it all went down (lazy POS) and said he was just going to give my info to the Sheriff dept because they're the ones that recovered it.
I tried calling this afternoon and no one answered. Wasn't surprised.
I'm gonna call again Monday and see if I can't make some headway. I'm sure they'll make it a pain in the arse.
