The Next plans just divide the full price of your phone over 20 and 26 payments. Bascially you finance it at 0% interest. The $29 you mentioned x 20 months comes out to the exact full retail price of $580. In addition to your monthly note, you also pay the same $15/month to access your data as you would if you brought your own device or paid full retail up front.
FWIW, I bought the black LG G3 this past Friday for $530 on Amazon. No taxes, free shipping, and I qualified for LG's promotion to get a free spare battery and charging cradle.
