Sure there are individual drives or even games, like Saturday, where the staffs' decisions on offense are questionable, but Miles has shown time and again that he is more than capable of a high powered offense when the talent is there. Rather than viewing it as "handcuffing" the offense when we have relatively weak QBs, I think it is much more plausible that Miles and the staff attempt to focus on the teams perceived strengths and try to win games in that manner. I don't believe the staff is above any criticism by any means. However, in the case of the offense this year and from 2008-2012, I believe, if anything, Miles deserves more criticism for not recruiting/developing the players at the QB position rather than criticism for a vanilla gameplan. I'd also like to point out that I fully believe the stretch from 2008-2011 would have been much different had Perrilloux not been such an idiot. Had he stayed on the team and started in 2008 and 2009, with Lee or Jefferson in 2010 and 2011, Miles would be looked at in a much different light, specifically on the offensive side of the ball.

TL;DR - Miles and the staff have had prolific offenses when the talent on offense was exceptional, despite the coordinator or Miles perceived meddling in the offense. This team has a considerable amount of talent, but they are very young. In the next two years, LSU will likely have a high powered offense as the talent matures and gains experience, despite whatever handicap the Rant believes Miles brings to the table.
