Maybe. But I seriously doubt Obama has the balls to put significant combat forces on the ground to slug it out. More than likely he'll bomb for a while then hope this falls from the news cycle so someone else can deal with the problem.

Obama will slow roll this until his term is over. You can already see the "it will take years" message coming out of the administration

No way. Not even Obama could recover from that politically. And if he did so without congressional authorization, he might be impeached.
