Rule of thumb...if it's in Birmingham, there's a good chance the service will suck. I hate to say that, but it's true.

Eh, depends on where you go. If it is busy, sure it may take some time. Carrigan's just sucks because their staff are just assholes, and bartenders think they are the greatest things in the world because they know how to make a lot of weird drinks.
I love fricking with them and asking about what exotic drink they like to make the most, then order my bourbon on the rocks
