He was on my lease in Texas for years. Being that it was only 5 of us we spent a ton of time together.

One option is the kind of hunt that you tell them how many you want to kill and you pay per duck. Dry creek ranch around kinder is where we take customers that want to do this. No it's not "real" hunting but...it's also real easy. You sit in a "blind" and they release the big fat corn fed mallards and they fly back to there pin...just so happens to be over the "blind" and pond your sitting in. It's nice and laid back...but can be a little pricy. They also have pheasant, quail hunts and bigger game like stagg and axis.

no kidding. I know it's not real duck hunting but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't fun

I have done them before and they are not hunting but shooting, it was fun, and when you compare the prices to a guided "hunt" not much different. Which brings up the question if you go with a guide to his blind that he has picked the spot for, he has brushed, he lays out the decoys, you sit in the blind with your head down while he calls the ducks then when he says so you stand up and shoot.....is that really hunting?...again I do it often and enjoy it but everyone draws the line somewhere and not everybody will carve their own decoys and cut reeds for thier own call etc

Exactly...shooting lol. I dont know what "guided" hunts cost but if its close I would pick the kind I go on becasue you tell them...I want to shoot 15 ducks...your going to shoot 15. Not saying that a guided hunt is a bad idea...but what if the spot he picks that day is not a good one...you still pay?

At least there is an element of chance with a guide.

It's a bit of a trip from BR but check the link on Simmon's web site to a guy I think it's Commander's Crossing or something like that. Southeast Arkansas.
