because jennings skipping passes to receivers, taking bad sacks, and keeping the ball so he could run 11 times for 29 yds (more than hilliard and mcgee combined, and more than fournette total)...

Is such a great option?

WTF is wrong with you pumpers?

All of this. Playcalling is going to be limited when your QB's passes are going over and behind your WR's head and the others are skipping to them. He does one thing well and that is throw the deep ball to Dural. That's it. He has terrible pocket presence, doesn't run particularly well, and is inaccurate on all but one route to one particular WR. Put the kid in and let him take his lumps. I think the realistic fans will understand it is then a rebuilding year and to look to the future.

How? It would be different if we were pulling Mett for Harris. Jennings is servicable. Are you saying that Harris can't do the exact same stuff that Jennings is doing right now?

Harris will make more plays and more mistakes than Jennings. Jennings, I think, is a better "game manager."

I think Miles knew this and thought he could count on the defense to keep the games low scoring. That's obviously not the case this season so I'd rather the play maker out there, knowing full and well he's going to make mistakes that likely cost us a game or two. Problem is, Jennings not making mistakes will also cost us a game or two... or three...

i don't get it. Are you suggesting that the playcalling and OL play are the QB's fault, or agreeing the playcalling and OL is more of an issue?

He was awful Saturday.

pure awful. He was awful against Wisky too.

What evidence do you have of his "game management" ability?

harris looked "ready" to me saturday night. he almost won the the game for LSU in a matter of seconds.

if LSU had another 30 seconds on the clock, i think he leads them to a win.

Maybe the coaches who see him in practice don't think he knows the plays well enough, or that he can't execute the full playbook accurately? I dunno....maybe there is something that they see that we don't.

Jennings managed us all the way to 9 points through 3 & 1/2 quarters at home against State. Let's see what the more talented guy can do.

You are the consummate Miles homer dude. No one is gonna blame Miles if Harris shites the bed, which I don't think he will.
Miles will be doing what needs to have been done.
Then we can move forward with an objective view of exactly what both QBs are capable of.

We all know he throws a nice deep ball. So does the rest of the league. Outside of that, what has he done besides completing 50% of his passes?

I didn't say he's a "good game manager," I said he was a "better game manager." And the evidence is his 1 turnover through 4 games.

He'll always, always, always get credit for that.

great play by him.

Now, with that said, he's been a mixed bag since.

Look, we'll get alot of good and alot of bad with Harris. But the ceiling of where Harris can take this team is alot higher than where Jennings can.

A game manager works well in an offense that can run the ball effectively and where he doesn't have to do much other than not turn the ball over.

This year's offense does not need a game manager, it needs a playmaker.

Not only Harris, but all the young guys. I'm ok conceding one season. I'm not ok half assing two seasons.

They both need to play, but Harris needs 80%. The kid will learn faster playing the competition. We will win games bc of him.

It will make no difference though if we try to hide him with the play calling we've been showing.

Totally agree....he will be sodomized repeatedly if the line doesn't step up. They were abysmal again on Saturday and there appears to be no cure in the foreseeable future.
