Tailgating ettiquette?

I have a buddy that works for Miller Lite and we stopped by their tent for a little while Saturday. Random people were walking up and getting free beer including the people from the Verizon tent next to his.
The Miller Lite tent had different types of beer but no hard liquor.
One of the girls in our group walks over to the Verizon tent and asks the lady watching over everything for a mixed drink and the lady told her no and that she needed to stay with her own group.
First time I've ever experienced this. Is it ok to do this? Do you share with your tailgate neighbors? I've always found that people at different tailgates were pretty cool.

Most everyone I have tailgated near were pretty cool and usually offer anything that they have before anyone even asks...
however, I have never really tailgated with or around anything sponsored by a company, so that may be different...
my guess is that they had just found someone taking advantage of their shite and were pissed about it...
either that, or the girl that asked was blonde...all women hate blondes and will get pissy in a heartbeat...

Maybe the lady was working and told she could only give drinks to their group? I wouldn't risk my job over something like that so I can't hate on her if that was the case.
