They just need to get the secret societies on this.

Wasn't there a Chinese kid that disappeared a while back from there and an Indian kid who disappeared around 2011 or 2012?

This name is almost as tragic as the story.

Am following. The nurse assistant is suspicious, but just not sure. I do not think she will be found alive. Sad.

Why is the nursing student a suspect? Just because he was seen with her?

My wife graduated from UVA in 2003. She said even back then it was known there may be a serial killer loose bc girls would disappear.

Wow this is sad. Looks like a very pretty girl. I feel for her parents. I hope they find her alive.

Police have since conducted searches of Matthew's car (pictured) and house. They are awaiting the results of forensic tests which are due back tomorrow or Tuesday
If he didn't do it, he wouldn't be running. This guy is toast.

From the article:
* 11:50 PM - Hannah leaves party (heavily intoxicated)
* 1:00 AM - At the mall
* 1:20 AM - Sends lost text
* ? - Matthew and Hannah spotted together at Tempo restaurant. Is this after 1:20 AM or between 11:50 and 1:20 ?
And you can't blame Matthew for lawyering up. Even if he's innocent he needs a lawyer under these circumstances.

Looking at that map at the end of the article... WTF was this girl thinking?
She's in a foreign country, blitzed, alone, wearing "going out clothes" and walks MILES around town to various bars? I don't think that's safe to do in Britain either. What was she thinking? Was she THAT bad of a drunk that she regularly walked miles around town by herself while intoxicated?

I've been following it in the Washington Post.
1. Matthew's behavior is highly suspicious - especially when factoring the 'last-seen-with' evidence.
2. I infer from police statements and charges that there is additional forensic-based evidence, though not yet divulged.
3. The police chief is a tenacious bastard.
4. Too many days since disappearance to presume happy ending for missing girl.
5. Matthew's lawyer was, until last year, a very successful, tenured prosecutor in VA.
Conclusion: Matthew is the logical suspect unless or until new evidence is presented to the public - such evidence could include locating the missing girl.
Matthew's lawyer will make a judgment about the evidence based on his experience as a very successful local prosecutor. If he provides persistent defense, then I would presume the case is weak against Matthew. If he eventually goes to plea, Matthew did evil.
