I understand this. I think the Padres got a good deal, but that doesn't bother me. I think we did ok here. I don't understand the other moves if we are in rebuild mode.

Trade is decent but I am confused by the emphasis on Miller being a ML ready guy and signing Markakis if you're going to do this. This team is not even close to being competitive.

this is the part of these moves i dont get. this doesnt really align with the 2017/future plans part of these deals.

what am i missing?
