But you cant entirely blame the defense when the offense under Jennings scores their first TD with 12:34 left in the GAME.

This doesn't change the fact that the D was gashed like a mofo, even when the team had some momentum in the 2nd half.

Why doesn't people admit the only time Jennings looks decent is against cupcakes also. Harris has more upside

I hate to say this, but at times last night, jennings reminded me of Jefferson

I've said it at least three times. Doesn't seem to be going over so well.

I like the "Harris was in vs backups" argument.

Jennings could not hit OPEN targets. Harris did.

Further, Harris throws strikes and Jennings throws DUCKS.

If you cannot see this, you are blind.

can you imagine jennings playing against alabama, auburn, a&m and ole miss?

I don't want to be doom and gloom, but he looked bad last night even when the line did give him time to throw.

Look, I'm past QB controversies. I said that AJ should start until/unless he shat the bed. That happened last night. I'm all for going with Harris, but you guys might want to temper your expectations. He's not the quick plug-in that's going to salvage this season. Defense is this team's bread and butter, and this year's unit is woefully inadequate for SEC play.

The defense scored as many TDs as the offense through the first 48 minutes of the game.

When your offense is not scoring and giving the ball away it hurts your defense no matter how good they are. ESPECIALLY a defense that lacks depth in key areas such as ours at DT and LB.

The worst part about the defense is the inane personnel decisions that keep being made like staring DJ Welter and playing Lamar Louis over Duke Riley. Play your best guys, it's not that hard.

You two both need to stop being stupid. They did not have all their backups in on those last 2 drives. That would be insanely stupid.

They were gashed as early as the opening series.

And Jennings cannot handle zone defense or disguised zone defense. He is indecisive and a one read guy. Harris (in the spread) surveys the field much better and is decisive. The power I has to go.

The thing that sucks the most here is the indecision. This is HIGHLY reminiscent of the JJ vs JLee controversy. Back and forth people went. JL in, no, go with JJ. JJ sucked, go with JL.

The problem is not rotating them often enough when one was off. I know, momentum, pacing, finding a grove, yada, yada, yada. The point is, during the whole JJ/JL debacle, if Les has not stuck with one or the other so long each time when they were off, they BOTH would have done better.

But I think this all might be moot. Somebody on the Scoreboard suggested, I think, that Jennings seemed to be throwing the white flag toward the end. He frequently seemed bewildered (not as bad a JJ would looking to the sideline for help in trying to understand what to do). But regardless of AJ predisposition, if he is hurt, Harris may get the nod.

Otherwise, baring an injury replacement, it is unlikely that Les will allow his mind to be swayed.

The issue is the coaching philosophy, not who is QB.

The backups being in, without question, facilitated the comeback to that point. And in case it escaped you, we didn't score on that last drive.

I'm not saying they played well, but the offense gave them ZERO help till the game was essentially out of hand.

It's completely demoralizing when you go out there 10 times, get several stops out of 10 times including a defensive TD, yet your offense can put it in the end zone until drive #11.

The pace of the game was set on the first offensive series. We decided to play conservative football from the first snap and the defense fed right off that knowing it was ALL on them to win that game last night. When in reality we CANNOT rely on a depleted defense to win us games this year, it's not going to happen.

They can still use the power I every now and then with a decent QB. Jennings just isn't decent.

You have to AT LEAST be a threat to pass the ball. Jennings is not. I hate questioning coaches, but reality is reality. With Harris in the game, defenses will at least have to respect the pass. It makes everyone better.

Yeah state dictated the pace of the game from jump. That first 3 and out was brutal.

Getting run over by the division doormat is probably pretty demoralizing too.

Listen, the defense is not elite. I was fooled, too. The front seven are actually pretty bad, to be honest. Below average at best. Rationalize it all you wish.
