Its a derogatory term referencing a physical characteristic. It may not have a history of oppression behind it - but it is still a bigoted term.

One could easily make the same argument about certain other words that are banned....unlike redneck, which is just fine for anyone to use.... because, really, why not hate white country folk and blue collar honkies?
