re: Relate your experience in your last ever high school game in any sport

I had two last games. We finished one game out of district AAA playoffs in 1984. We knew win or lose we were done. Anyway, the Monday or Tuesday after the game coach called us in and told us we had been invited to play north shore in the Ozone Bowl. He gave us a vote whether to play or not. In any case, we played, kicked the shite out of North Shore and at the last whistle, I kinda just stood and took in the cheering and field and the whole scene. That was the last time I suited up. It sure felt weird the next season, when I was only a spectator.
