That's originally how it was set up. The Founding Fathers originally only allowed rich land owners to vote.

Not all should be entitled to vote. If you are not a contributor to society, other than making more government dependents, you should not have the right to vote.

Election of competent people to manage our military and fiscal resources is needed. Unfortunately we elect incompetent people based upon the "what's in it for me" culture of simple minded voters.

America is still a great country, but we are going to be no better than France, Spain, etc in 20 years with our free ride socialist path set by the leeches of government.
