At least they'll be used to gametime for west coast games.

You sir are a glass half full kinda guy. Very change of pace around here.

I was thinking that's why the agreement was only 2 years so they could get a new affiliate when it expires, a little closer. I know Crane wanted to have one relatively close to Houston. Obviously this doesn't fit that bill. Slim pickings this year.

When they left Nola they did it for Round Rock which made sense. Then Nolan took over in Dallas and took RR with him so we scrambled.

Our next choice may be owned by the Astros. I think that's the way he would like to go.

They want to own the AAA team and have it local is the word around here. They already own AA Corpus.

East coast games might be a bitch, tho.

Corpus isn't owned by the Astros, it's owned by the Ryan's (Reid is CEO of them apparently). As is Round Rock.

ETA: you're right. Never heard anything official just that they intended to buy them. Must have become final when they hired Reid.

Astros bought Corpus earlier this year, they haven't owned it for very long.

Round Rock's lease with the Rangers is only for two more years I think as well. Could be wrong.

The Rockies dumped the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, who they have been affiliated with since 1993, for Albuquerque.

People are pissed

He's been a pretty big disappointment. The power numbers are decent and he's driven in some runs. And the glimmer of hope is his 14% walk rate. But a .169 average in 300 at bats is downright awful even for a rookie.

Agreed. At first I chalked it up to being a rook and the adjustment to MLB pitching. However, he hasn't shown any upward trending with his hitting like I had hoped .

Not to mention, he isn't a stellar defensive 1B either. His hitting and power are/were his pluses.
