With this being the first release after a major redesign, I wasn't expecting a lot and have been pleasantly surprised. In the time I have been using it, it seems to me that they drilled down to the things people use their phone for constantly and made those things better. Rather than a lot of "wow factor" stuff that is cool but you end up hardly using, iOS 8 is big on streamlining user's most frequent activities. It's underwhelming until you really start using it.

Yep. More I play with it more i go oh that's clever or going to be handy. Lot of detail changes are making for a better than ever user experience.

I haven't noticed any slow down on my 5S but I'm gonna hold off on that till I use it more. I have noticed some scrolling lag on my older iPad. Example scrolling Facebook it's noticeable. Nothing else so far.
