I do think the stars are being wildly overrated by the media and the fancystats crowd. There are things to like about this team, but they are being treated like they have arrived after barely making the playoffs and then quickly exiting. Their blueline is pretty atrocious and shows no real signs of ever becoming even in the league's top half. They've got some nice forward lines, but I really do think this team tops out as an interesting squad that might pull an upset in the first round.
Besides, the West is so loaded, and it's hard to see the Stars going toe to toe with the Ducks and Sharks consistently, much less the Hawks, Blues, and Kings.

While I agree that the blue line is the Achilles heel of the team and was very weak last year, I don't agree that it shows no signs of ever becoming decent.
This will be a big year for guys like Oleksiak, Nemeth, Klingburg, and Jokipakka.
