I will tell you the following (even if it will sadly hurt our chances. Idk if it would or not...): the name "Blue Jackets" comes from Ohio's/Columbus' major contributions to the Union Army in the Civil War...

I actually find the whole thing pretty cool... just don't know how someone from the South may appreciate it. Still hope you consider us, though, if you don't find that a big deal, because from a hockey standpoint we're strong, but I want to give you the knowledge to make a more-informed decision.

I'm not someone who cares about which side a state was on in an unnecessary war that was fought 150 years ago and while I'm not big on glorifying war, this is a relatively harmless celebration of Columbus' history and doesn't bother me much. Also, considering the LSU Tigers are named after a Confederate infantry company, it would be fairly hypocritical to be bothered by it.

At this point, I've pretty much narrowed it down to:

The Lightning
I think this promising young team has got special times ahead
Plus, I liked the off-season moves by the Lightning too

Super Star in Stamkos....
Up incoming young Goalie in Bishop.......
Many other skilled players to go with great management
Great fans, mascot, Lightning Bolt, and cool team colors
It's a win-win.....

Im also a closet Blues fan, which most of my fellow hawks fans would find disgusting.
