Not so worried about the 0-2 start, rather the fact that the defense looks like a carbon copy of 2012 and we know how that turned out.

The Def held the brownies to 19 points so I will disagree.

Historically, an 0-2 start makes it really hard to get into the playoffs.

I think the thing 0-2 says most about this team is they probably aren't a championship caliber team. If you're a legit contender you typically find a way to win the close ones against inferior opponents.

Holding the brownies isn't much of a test, IMHO. That offense was middle of the pack, and now it is down their top 3 players. Letting an offense that crippled, drive 80+ yards over and over sure reminds me of 2012. Obviously hope I am wrong.

I think it's bad due to the schedule looking tougher than it originally was.

It looks worse than it actually is, but it not good when your goal is HFA.

It isn't about the record, really.

0-2 usually means that you stink. Dallas started 0-2 back in the mid 90's and went on to win the Super Bowl one year. Emmitt Smith was out and 0-2 was not reflective of the quality of the team. It usually is.

This could be an 11-5/12-4 team still, or it might be an 8-8 team. We don't know.

What makes the Saints situation different is that we THINK that this is still an 11-5 or better team based on talent and past performance.

HOPEFULLY, the problems are defense are because of new players and poor communication that will be worked out.

Heard someone say that two teams in super bowl history have started 0-2 and made it to the game. Guess that's about 2%.

Can we beat Seattle in Seattle, I suppose, is the ultimate question.

I started 0-2 in my big money fantasy football league last year, and made it to the Championship game. Didn't win tho, lost by 40.
Saints will be ok.

I'm just going to correct you here, but 3 teams actually won the Super Bowl after going 0-2: The 1993 Dallas Cowboys, the 2001 New England Patriots and the 2007 New York Giants. Do you see anything in common with these three teams?

Also, we don't need to be worrying about Seattle. There are much better teams than Seattle this year that we need to worry about. Hell, Seattle plays Denver this weekend and could very possibly end up 1-2. I'm more worried about the Eagles, Cardinals, and Panthers at this point.

I'm way more concerned about how we've looked against the level of competition we've faced than being 0-2.

If we look the same vs a vikings squad that may be one of the 3 or 4 worst teams in the nfl, than my concern will turn to depression.

Think of a season divided up into 4 quarters. One quarter of the season is equal to 4 games.

The key is to winning your quarter with a 4-0 or 3-1 record. So if we can go 2-2 in this quarter, and 3-1 the rest of the way, we are 11-5.

Maybe have another 2-2 quarter and we are 10-6.

Not what we had hoped for but we would be a playoff team no doubt.

yeah Carolina recovered last year, but at the end of the day, while the bad start didn't necessarily mean they were a bad team, it DID mean (judging by their playoff performance alone) that they were not championship caliber. That's what worries me about the Saints. We can turn it around, but losing to the Browns suggests we aren't championship caliber (which is not to say we can't be good, but I'd rather be great).

What did losing to Tampa Bay at home in 09 say about the Saints?

The issues are defensive, basically we are a decent pass rush away from being 2-0. Yes pRob is terrible but the defensive line has been playing terrible also. Saints season rides on the defensive line if they improve we will be a playoff contender. If not we will be lucky to be 8-8 and will be in shootouts every week regardless of who we are playing
