I googled around and the only instances I could find of the NFL coming down on players for shirts were situations where they violated exclusive endorsement deals the NFL had in place. This appears to be the case in this situation.

The Redskin on TV right after rg3 also had a different brand shirt on, and he was not asked to turn his shirt inside out
