Admittedly I haven't kept up with hipster music as much as I was from 2002-2010ish. Got sidetracked with old stuff.

Small thread hijack.

But I always wonder if someone that posts here knows the dude in your avatar and has ever showed him your sig pic...Judging by the way that guy looks, I'd wager a pretty penny that your sig pic might cause him to beat his wife, burn down his dodge truck, and then have a heart attack

Maybe my hate for Atlanta is clouding my judgement

I'll always prefer the old school Houston gangster rap to the ATL stuff

Hip Hop is the only redeeming quality of Atlanta so that is understandable.

If I am going old school though it's NY all day. And close, it ain't even.

Hip hop is the only redeeming quality of Houston. For the fourth largest city in America, it's sad how terrible the music scene is there

At least ATL has terminal west and the tabernacle. Houston is a piece of shite

So much dust in your opening argument, but true nonetheless.
Your case for ATL is weak, even though I do agree with it. Only 2 artists from the links you posted are good.
Please clarify your NYC top 5 list. Fricking Gang Starr? You gotta be kidding me. They aren't even half as good as fricking G-Unit. Take them off that list.

Outkast and Luda. Jeezy, T.I., Migos, and Young Thug

It's the truth though. 50 was dropping mixtape and mainstream classics while Fredro Starr was getting head from Brandy.

No love for Goodie Mob?

As far as Gang Starr, it may just not be your style but DJ Premier is one of the greatest producers of all time
