With the Ray Rice issue and now the Adrian Peterson situation the nfl is now loosing BIG SPONSORS!! Radison hotels, Nike that has to do w/AP, AP's own charitable foundation, and get this anheuser Busch!!
I thinks it's a good thing, these people being exposed for being punks that they are!!
All sponsorship will soon be gone. Sponsors cannot sponsor events that have participants that have hit their wife, their children, said a bad word or received a speeding ticket.

It is as long as the NFL and media make it an issue.
My life hasn't changed one bit after all this and I after the 2nd Rice video went public personally, I didn't say, well hell, I hate football now... I do hate all this social issue shite. But, it's the world we live in.

Hopefully, the entire NFL goes under and some entrepreneurs start another one with the rules the way they were meant to be (I.e. Bring back the violence).

HaHaHa. All of this will blow over. The American public has a 30 second attentions span. As games are played people will forget all this shite. Ray Rice could come back sunday and if he rushes for 150 yards he is forgiven. Look at Ray Lewis. He covered up a murder and turned around to win the MVP.
This happens more than we know. And we really don't want to know what's been covered up.

It's probably pretty good for Finebaum. He's the only sports radio show actually talking about football.
All the other shows are unbearable right now because of how they have to broadcast their stance on the situation at hand.

Some sponsors are hoping they can back out of tossing the $ away. Beer will sell regardless.

Entirely too much money is spent convincing people that their self-worth is tied to the accomplishments of a group of lug-head mercenaries who happen to ply their craft in the same city.
Football may be the theme of the party but the reason for the party is getting together with family and friends. If football didn't exist I guarantee you people would be getting together and tying their self-worth to something else that would seem equally stupid and meaningless from afar.

Not gonna happen. Those days are over. Personally, I like the game the way it is now opposed to the old days. Sure, some of the personal foul penalties are bogus and frustrating, but the new rules make for a better product. It allows players with superior athleticism and skill to shine, which is a good thing.

Said it on the MSB and will reiterate, football will be a dead sport within 20-30 years. It will be reflected upon as a gladiator sport, but won't be allowed on the grounds of any educational facility. Thus killing the sport.

I think a lot of it have been hearing how big the NFL is now and the money they are making and want to tear them down some.
It is sorta what we do as a society. Build up, tear down, repeat.

What will replace it? Inherently violent sports satisfy a deep-seeded primal urge for tribal combat.
That need won't go away, no matter how much feminists and the PC crowd and trilby-wearers want it to.

Agree, but if there is no one to refill the rosters the product will suffer and no one will care.

The NFL will change to a non contact sport in 2 decades.

How will schools cover the diversity requirements then?

Then something new will crop up.

They won't dissolve athletic departments, just make them what they were before. Football will be phased out.
