FWIW, I was just listening to Ed Helms on Nerdist podcast and he's playing Rusty. Funny thing was that he almost didn't take the part before reading the script because he was so fond of the original and really doesn't like the idea of rehashing old stuff. But when he read the script, he really thought it was funny and liked that it was not a remake or reboot but a continuation of the story.

I loved the original, and liked Christmas...but I'm open to enjoying this if it's good.

Honestly, I don't have a problem with this. If Vacation was stand alone, I might have more of a problem, but they've done multiple sequels.

There's some pretty funny people like Helms attached to this. It could work.

I don't get this line of thinking. There's nothing precious about Vacation that a sequel would ruin. You can still watch the original and you can easily ignore the sequel. Besides, there's already been sequels.

And I like Leslie Mann. She's good in her typical deadpan role. She's way better in comedies than Aniston or a lot of other actresses.
