That fact (is "I believe" a fact) only mildly helps us speculate...

If you're CBS, you have four undefeated** SEC West teams:
#3 vs. #10 (AP) in bama-UM^^
#5 vs. #8 (AP) in LSU-AU^^

And CBS could not care less if ESPN is crowding the joint with Gameday. In fact, there's reason to think that ESPN Gameday chooses the game that CBS does not choose, in order to further boost the ratings for the game they (ESPN) are televising.

** obviously assumes no losses of these four teams (UF, MSU & KSU will be trying hard to spoil that)
^^ also, losses by FSU, Oregon, Oklahoma, TAMU, Baylor & ND would improve the above SEC rankings
