I saw a special on this years back (ESPN maybe?) where they called it "Florentine Football" and stated that the only rule was that you couldn't kick a man that was unconscious.

I would love to watch an NFL team go against the best gladiator football team, and watch the gladiators get the frick beat out of them. Not even clicking the link but it looks incredibly trashy
