How can something weighed on a scale of personal opinion be hyperbolic?

To me, that is the single greatest unplugged tune ever done. And if MTV had their way, it would not have been done.

Layla is on the short-list too.

One of my favorites; it was our wedding first dance, but I'm not swayed.

Probably my favorite too... Forgot the words to Rooster though if I remember correctly.

It was "Sludge Factory" that he beefed it on. He mixed up lines in the first and second verses. "Ffffffrick!" I'm glad they left it in the DVD. shite like that can make a performance.

You didn't weigh anything "on a scale of personal opinion." That would include a word like favorite instead of:

quote:

the single best unplugged track in history.

quote:

Nirvana set the bar high and nobody else has come close. It's really not much of a discussion.

Those are laughably absolute statements drowning in hyperbole.

No; because in my opinion, it is the best. The greatest.

Not hyperbolic. Not absolutism, either. By that definition, every opinion of superiority is a hyperbolic absolute, to a degree. Using the term 'favorite' is just a weak fandom version of what I said.

This is the internet, every a-hole is a critic. Critics don't say something is their favorite; they make outlandish claims that it's the best-in-class, when they believe that it is.
