Godchaux I haven't seen enough yet. Could change as season progresses.

Chavis' scheme against Ole Miss is still terrible. I don't know what it is, but he better figure that shite out.
Better?

Jalen Collins never would have made this tackle last yr. he didn't like contact. he's been by far the biggest surprise, which is saying something, because no one saw Godchaux coming.

The games?
He played little and had minimal impact against Wisconsin.
He played against two cupcakes and made a couple tackles in each game. He shows flashes of being a significant factor but I wouldn't say his play has leaped out yet. He could become more of a factor as season progresses. I'd say he is already on par with QThomas but that really means nothing.

3. Tashawn Bower- Not the biggest guy weight-wise, but he has some power behind him and can flat out run. He may be better than Hunter IMO.
He isn't playing better than Hunter
OR Teuhema for that matter

WHAT? You do realize getting a sack is not the only indicator of ability.
You need to go watch the ULm and SHSU games again. Bower was our best DE against the run.

nah, bower is decent but he's not really athletic like hunter. Not much of a pass rusher at all.

He has 2 tackles on the season.

YOu're right, but Hunter is falling into what I call the "Rahim Alem" move. Just rush the passer RB be damned and run yourself out of the play. He has improved at this since the Wisconsin game.
Bower isn't as explosive, but he's a solid run stopper at DE with a good bullrush. Perfect replacement for Rasco.

Okay? Now go look up Hunter's stats. Hunter is clearly the better 3rd down DE, but I do question whether Bower will help us stop the run better than Hunter would.
Bower has a QBH while hunter has none. Watch the game from Saturday. Bower was getting incredible push.
