Home school if you can, you would not believe the difference. One on one, teachers today do not have time to work with slow students.

Have her checked for Dyslexia. If you catch it early they can help her. It also helps if the school has a program for kids like her.

Not to derail my own thread but RBWilliams8, how did you guys solve this problem? My son has the very same issue. He will ONLY eat chicken nuggets and eggs. He says the textures of other foods bug him so he refuses to eat them.
He's still a wee lad so he hasn't been able to tell us. And we went a good little bit not knowing he needed tubes. So that was the issue with speech. Little man couldn't hear. Seeing issues early is key.

Why not actually just studied with your girl? That way you can find out first hand what the actual problem is.
However, i would bet that the school's way of teaching math is probably retarded. I've seen so many core math problems for kids and it's so retarded. Instead of doing regular adding, you gotta do some other stupid shite that takes way longer and can be very confusing for kids.
As for literature, I could see some similar bull shite going on too. But either way, just study with her and figure it out yourself.
