Sorta.
A crapped emission system can be an extremely expensive operation.
IMO you're better off educating yourself about how the engine works and leaving it like it is. Chances are you won't have any issues until it's time to change the DPF (and that is unavoidable if you keep the truck long enough).

I would just like to note this thread gives me a mild case of paranoia.
The guy that had the fuel pump issues, any signs or warnings or just totally took a dump?
I've recently developed an under hood buzzing sound that's noticeable louder than what it's ever been. Been trying to gauge my level of concern.
