Ford tried to not pay for it saying that he had water in his fuel.

Such a load of bullshite. For future reference to those who have one, I think he got around that issue by showing them that the WIF sensor was working and never triggered.

This happened with a 2013 with 50k miles.

I'm not sure what causes it. Bosch pumps are used on a whole lot of engines with no issues.

Thats the typical response from Ford. They are even saying that if your HPFP goes out and you're running a Titan tank, no warranty. Its more than silly.
