He put on a show when people were watching before Football started. Maybe more people would have been watching yesterday if it were USA vs. Spain, but it wasn't so hardly anybody stopped watching the NFL to see the USA get FIBA gold.
Between Durant symbolically passing the torch and AD showing up early, he has completely changed the conversation about himself and the prospects of the team. From a springboard point of view he played it perfectly, much better than having a meh tournament but a beastly championship game that nobody paid attention to.
